There are a lot of Batman games out there. With such a huge glut of movies, games, and events out there, playing yet another Batman game can seem—well—old. Yet if you reject Batman: Arkham Knight simply because it is yet another Batman game, you will be missing out on one of the best Batman games out there.In Batman: Arkham Knight, Joker is dead, and Scarecrow is moving in on the city instead. The whole city evacuates out of fear, and the usual thugs, bandits, and other bad guys move in. As we all know, when bad guys move into Arkham, Batman is there to save the day.
Huge World to Explore
This game takes place after Batman: Arkham City, but while only a small portion of the city was available in the previous game, it is greatly expanded here. Expect to roam over about 5 times the size of the original area.
The amount of area to roam isn’t all that has been improved. New toys and equipment essentially allow Batman to fly after fully upgrading, and the bat-mobile can catch you in midair when summoned. All these things make the game a little more fun.

Batman Arkham Knight Walkthrough
Your path to finding Scarecrow isn’t all that obvious. In order to find him you’ll need to follow clues around the city, and defeat a lot of lower level bad guys on the way. This is one of the areas where this game truly stands out compared to other Batman games.
Rather than let you know what you can and can’t do, or where you are supposed to go, the game lets you figure it out on your own. It trusts that you can be Batman—at least enough to know you can end an annoying monologue with a blaster instead of waiting for it to be done.
Amazing detail
There’s really something to be said about the graphics in this game. The weather really adds to the mood, and there’s hardly ever any skipping even when you’ve turned your bat-mobile into a rocket and blasted into the sky.
It comes together to really invoke the mood of Batman and coupled with the excellent sound makes for some unforgettable gameplay. This is probably the closest thing we will ever get to actually being in the city.
This was the last major release in the Batman series, and developers Rocksteady Studios claimed there would be no other major releases. As of 2021 this is still the case, with only a couple of minor spin-offs since then. Batman: Arkham Knight definitely feels like the penical of the Batman series. It feels like Batman: Arkham City but with more space, better tools, and less hand holding. If you’ve always wanted to play Batman for real, this game won’t remind you that you’re in a game with hints every 5 seconds—it just lets you play.
