Step 1: you can start by downloading a reliable and bug free emulator. We’d suggest Citra – it’s open source, fast and one of the most frequently updated.

Once you have finished downloading Citra, extract the downloaded .7z file to a location, for example your Desktop. After, double click the citra-setup-windows.exe file in order to start the emulator.

Your emulator will now be ready to play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D rom. But now you’ll need to find the correct ROMs online. A ROM is essentially a virtual version of the game that needs to be loaded into the emulator.

Step 2: return to Citra and hit File > Open. Navigate to the downloaded .exe file and double click it to open it. The game will now run on the emulator and you can play the game freely.

Tip: Saving games on an emulator functions a little differently. The integrated save system will not save your progress.
Instead, you’ll need to click File > Save State and then choose an empty slot. You can save your progress in whatever point you like within the game, not only on the official checkpoints offered by the game.

When playing in the future and you want to continue from your saved state, you can use File > Load State to load up the game from exactly where you last saved it.

i am personally very new to the Zelda series, i rarely or ever played any Nintendo game or franchises like a lot of people have, i mainly grew up with playstation and havent figured out a way to play any of the popular Nintendo franchises but thankfully now i been working on playing through some more Nintendo games and of course why not having one of them be Zelda which is one of the most popular gaming franchises of all-time and i know many people that are huge die-hard fans of this series so i am excited to get more into this series and i always been told that Ocarina Of Time is the perfect game to get started with the Zelda series and now time to discuss it

also in case you guys were wondering, i played the OG version on an emulator

Legend

to simply put it, it isnt hard to see why Ocarina Of Time is an beloved classic in the series, its always considered to be one of the best games ever made and while i wouldnt consider that as of right now, Ocarina Of Time is still an excellent game

the world of Hyrule is soooo freakin compelling and awe-inspiring and its already one of my favorite worlds in any game i have ever played, from the town, the look in the area, the design of it and just all the fun people you talk to and exploration you can do makes the game much fun to experience and figure out the secrets of the areas you explore, the exploration is one of the absolute best things about the game, while the visuals and character models dont hold up the best, its still has an unique flair to it, the characters of Link and everyone you meet are fun, interesting and all around compelling, all the missions you do are fun, never drags and are always soooo rewarding

also the music.........OMG THE FREAKIN MUSIC, easily some of the absolute music ive ever heard in any game and has many tracks im still humming to my head, from this and Majoras Mask, Zelda already has my favorite music soundtracks in any video game

this game also has some of the best boss battles in any game i have played, a lot of them are very fun, unique, creative and an blast to figure out and the final battle with Ganon is easily an top-tier final boss, its Top 10 Best Final Bosses level imo and the dungeons themselves and puzzles are all around great, fun, creative and i had fun figuring them out myself and somehow i never looked them up which is what i normally do when im heavily stuck in an puzzle, the ocarina portions are beautiful as well, i have an big smile and grin on my face throughout my playthrough of this game, the story was compelling and kept me going throughout, i never wanted to put it down when i started it, the writing is great all around, it personally isnt hard to see why Ocarina Of Time is sooo beloved, many people have considered it to be one of the best games ever made and while as of right now i personally wouldnt think that, i can easily see that if i decide to replay it

it is an game (as last from the N64 version) that doesnt hold up the best mainly from the controls and it can feel a bit clunky at times and i did get annoyed a bit but not too much to where it hindered my experience and that Water Temple level well......... infamous for an freakin reason

Ocarina

but overall Ocarina Of Time was still great and amazing and was very happy i got to experience this beloved classic and i am excited to get more into the Zelda series
